Stranahan's 12 year old Mountain Angel Port Wine Cask Aged (Batch 01)
Review
By Shane EnglishOne of the pioneers of American single malt makes this year's Top 20 with a well-aged malt that hints at the future of the category. The nose is spicy and herbal, with dill, mint leaf, cracked leather, and dusty oak. The palate shows the port influence with sweet red fruits, jammy berries, and Concord grape, then more cracked leather and a hint of rubber, creating depth and harmony. On the finish, there's coffee cake, black tea with lemon, and cinnamon sugar.

Serie V Melanio Maduro Churchill
Premium Nicaraguan cigar
Why This Pairing Works
Jammy berries and Concord grape from the port finish find their echo in the Melanio Maduro's German chocolate cake and malted chocolate character. The cigar's baking spices complement cinnamon sugar notes in the whiskey, while cracked leather from both creates a sophisticated, well-aged harmony.
